  1. File/Folder Info Definitions

  3. Note: This selection allows you to view information on a file or folder of your
  4.            choosing.  It also allows you to set its Attributes by choosing the Set‚Ķ 
  5.            button.

  7.            The ‚ÄúUse Alias‚Äù checkbox in the selection dialog becomes active when you
  8.            have chosen an alias under System 7.  The checkbox allows you to view and
  9.            set the information in the alias file itself, not the target.  Remember that
  10.            an alias of a file or folder is actually a file and is labeled accordingly.

  12. File Related:
  13. ‚Ä¢ File Name = Name
  14. ‚Ä¢ Path Name = Location of the file
  15. ‚Ä¢ File Integrity = If Checking is on in TattleTech menu, is file damaged
  16. ‚Ä¢ File Type = Finder type
  17. ‚Ä¢ File Creator = Finder creator
  18. ‚Ä¢ File is Locked = Is the file protected from erasure or name change?  This 
  19.                  status is maintained by the File system
  20. ‚Ä¢ File Reference# = Number assigned to an open file.  Zero if closed
  21. ‚Ä¢ Enclosing Folder ID# = Number assigned to last folder in Path Name
  22. ‚Ä¢ Data + Resource Forks:
  23.    ‚óä Fork is Open = Is Fork open?
  24.    ‚óä Actual (Logical) Length = Number of bytes actually taken by information
  25.    ‚óä Allocated (Physical) Length = Number of bytes assigned to the file.  This
  26.                  amount is dependent upon the Allocation Block Size listed for each 
  27.                  mounted volume under the Volumes + Drives listing.
  28. ‚Ä¢ Dates: 
  29.    ‚óä Created = Date and time of creation
  30.    ‚óä Modified = Date and time of modification
  31.    ‚óä Backup = Date and time of backup
  32. ‚Ä¢ Finder Related: 
  33.    ‚óä File is Alias = Is the file an Alias file
  34.    ‚óä File is Invisible = Is the file visible/listed by the Finder?
  35.    ‚óä File has Bundle Resource = Does the file have a resource that associates
  36.                  file types and custom icons for proper display in the finder?
  37.    ‚óä File Name is Locked = Can the file name be changed in the Finder?
  38.    ‚óä File is Stationary Pad = Is the file a Stationary Pad?
  39.    ‚óä File has Custom Icon = Does the file have an icon specifically assigned
  40.                   by the user through the Get Info dialog?
  41.    ‚óä File is Letter = Is the file an AOCE letter?
  42.    ‚óä File has been Inited = Has the Finder included the Bundle Resource and its
  43.                   related data in the desktop database?
  44.    ‚óä File has No INITs = Does this file contain INIT resources which modify the
  45.                   system during startup?
  46.    ‚óä File is Shared = Only related to Applications, is this Application available
  47.                   to multiple users? 
  48. ‚Ä¢ Misc Application Related:  Appears if file is an application
  49.    ‚óä Certified 32-Bit Clean = Is the code is 32-Bit clean
  50.    ‚óä Supports HL Events = Is the application Apple Event aware
  51.    ‚óä Supports Remote HL Events = Does the application support remote events
  52.    ‚óä Is PowerPC Native = Can the application run native on the Power Mac

  54. Folder Related:
  55. ‚Ä¢ Folder Name = Name
  56. ‚Ä¢ Path Name = Location of the Folder
  57. ‚Ä¢ Number of Items in Folder = Includes both files and folders
  58. ‚Ä¢ Folder ID# = Number assigned to Folder by operating system
  59. ‚Ä¢ Folder is Shared = When File Sharing is on, is this folder a shared folder.  It
  60.                  is also controlled by the Sharing... menu item
  61. ‚Ä¢ Folder is Locked = Is the Folder protected from erasure or name change?  Its
  62.                  status is maintained by the File system.
  63. ‚Ä¢ User Privileges: 
  64.    ‚óä User is Owner of Folder = Is the user the creator/publisher of the
  65.                 folder?
  66.    ‚óä User can See Folder = Can user view the contents of the folder?
  67.    ‚óä User can See Enclosed Files = Can user view the enclosed files‚Äô 
  68.                 contents?
  69.    ‚óä User can Make Changes = Can user change the contents of the
  70.                 files/folder?
  71. ‚Ä¢ Dates: 
  72.    ‚óä Created = Date and time of creation
  73.    ‚óä Modified = Date and time of modification
  74.    ‚óä Backup = Date and time of backup
  75. ‚Ä¢ Finder Flags: 
  76.    ‚óä Folder is Invisible = Is the folder visible/listed by the Finder?
  77.    ‚óä Folder Name is Locked = Can the folder name be changed in the Finder?
  78.    ‚óä Folder has Custom Icon = Does the folder have an icon specifically
  79.                   assigned by the user through the Get Info dialog?
  80.    ‚óä Folder is Inited = Folder icon has been recorded?
